Giving Up

Well last night I finally gave up on breastfeeding. All three of us were miserable so Josh and I talked it over and decided that with my supply issues the best thing for our family was to go with formula. Things have been so much better since making that decision. Josh can now help out more, Addyson isn't going hungry, and I'm not going crazy with guilt. I really think this was the best thing we could have done.

Tracie, first CONGRATS! and don't worry yourself about not being able to breastfeed. Whatever you have been able to do so far has given the little girl a good start. I had troubles with my first baby Scott (ack! now he's 19 y/o!) and tried pumping and all kinds of things and got frustrated and finally went to formula. He has always been a pretty healthy kid, hardly sick or allergic , etc.
Hang in there.. enjoy every minute!!! Aunt Julie

Tracie,
I had high hopes for breastfeeding, too. Unfortunately, it wasn't as easy as I thought it would be. Bottle feeding is a lot easier - especially at 3 am when you have a fussy baby who won't latch on. Too exhausting... And at least with a bottle you know much the baby is eating. So, don't beat yourself up about it. Addyson will be fine. She has two parents (and lots of friends) who love her lots! :)

Take care, Amanda

Tracie,

I know everyone acts like breastfeeding is the most natural thing ever and should be totally easy, but we both know that isn't always true!! You know what is best for you and Addy and we all support you in that!! I'm glad things are going better for you and we've got you both in our prayers. We love you!!!
